Podcasting Tips with Shannon Hernandez

Unread post by Sheryl Loch » Tue Sep 01, 2015 11:58 pm

In this video you will hear Shannon Hernandez talk about the 7 essential tools you need for podcasting.

So, if you are looking to start a podcast or already have one and maybe it isn’t doing as well as you would like, I bet you can get a few tips from this video.

Shannon is going to tell you that you need to have a real idea for your podcast. We all know those people who say “You must have a podcast”, so people jump on the band wagon to do it, but they don’t know why or what they are trying to achieve. Heck, we see it all the time with people starting websites and YouTube channels too. They have to have one, they just don’t have a long term plan.
Some of the other things mentioned are equipment. Yes, you have to have a mic and a way to record it. Shannon goes into much more detail about this than I will here.

Another great tip is all about how you lay your show out. Do you even layout your show so it is the same each week? Will having a show layout help listeners? Yep, it is all covered.

I think many podcast have guest on their shows, but how do they find those guest? There again, I’ll let you listen for yourself to find out.

You can also hear a bit about podcast hosting companies.

And there are also some editing tips.

Honestly, this video has so much info packed in it, I probably missed some, so go ahead and watch it now.

Shannon's not your normal podcaster and I think that's why I find his tips and knowledge extremely valuable. With his background in radio, he has a unique perspective that many podcasting pros just don't have. When it comes to podcasting tips, Shannon is at the top of my list for help.
