There are SO many things to take into account when planning an event. Venue, hospitality, food service, guest speakers, marketing & advertising, on site marketing, swag, attendee registration, etc, etc etc. Seriosuly...you should see the checklists that I have.

However, when you are deciding on that upcoming event there are 4 keys that will help you paint the big picture of your event. While all the details and minutia really do matter, you have to make sure that you know that your overall goals for a profitable event. In this article, I share my perspective on the 4 Keys to Creating a Profitable Event.

Event planning is NO JOKE!

It's something that should be outsourced to the experts as soon as a budget can be made available, because it truly draws a business owner's focus away from the things he or she does well!

It is A LOT of work. People really don't realize how much thought and detail goes into creating an event. Just like with most functions in business, it's wisest to hire a professional or expert as soon as there is fund available.

Other People's Work ALWAYS requires more work than we give it credit for. Running a community forum, publishing amazing videos, publishing a magazine, running a retail outlet, etc. etc. etc.

The things we take for granted...

Agreed! It's not as easy as it looks. The real pros make it look easy and awesome. You can tell when someone is not a pro...it looks like a half assed job.
