They Baked Cakes in the 50's

Unread post by Sheryl Loch » Fri Aug 14, 2015 1:58 am

Since I have been looking through old songs...here is one that is from the 50's that I remember hearing as a kid. No, I am not THAT old, but when you worked in the garage with my dad, you heard old country music.
This 1st video is the 1950's original by Eileen Barton

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1gfZwejPv8

And one that I would have possibly seen - Here is Ernie and Cookie Monster doing their version of 'If I Knew You Were Coming I'd've Baked a Cake' from 1969

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF-yJqAMm2c

I don't know which version I learned the song from, but I use to sing it as a kid and surprisingly still know the lyrics to this day.

I watch YouTube videos.

No nuts! I hate nuts in my bread. I love nuts just not in bread. Ick!

I hear ya. I am mostly the same. But I do use nut meal that is pretty AWESOME in oatmeal cookies. They're moist and chewy but without that noticeable NUT in your bite.
