Coach or best friend - Which is it?!

Unread post by AskYvi » Fri Mar 18, 2016 12:26 pm

I just had to fire my coach ;(
Why?
Because he got to comfortable with me.... yes, there is such a thing as being too comfortable around someone.

He shared a personal story with me, trouble that he's going through right now. I just couldn't agree with his way of handling things and it took away all my trust that I had in him.

I get it, it shouldn't matter...but it does.

You can read here how not keeping a professional distance can end a otherwise great relationship.

Have you had that issue? Where a great business relationship just fell apart because you or they got to personal?

I have friends that are coaches and as much as I love them, I would never hire them because of this exact reason. If I am going to hire a coach or business consultant, I want the relationship to stay professional, plain and simple.
